Game Summary

Resident Evil Requiem takes the long running series in a bold new direction, blending its survival horror roots with the action focused gameplay that has defined many of its later entries. Rather than choosing one style, Capcom attempts to combine both, delivering a hybrid experience that shifts depending on the character you play.

Playing as Grace offers a return to classic survival horror. Her sections are slow, tense and carefully paced, with limited resources and a constant sense of danger. Locations feel detailed and alive, with enemies that move unpredictably and create organic encounters. The Rhodes Hill hospital stands out as a highlight, capturing the essence of what made earlier Resident Evil titles so memorable, while still feeling modern and dynamic.

In contrast, Leon's campaign leans heavily into action. Combat takes centre stage, offering faster paced gameplay and more direct encounters. While these sections provide variety and spectacle, they also shift the tone significantly, moving away from the tension and careful resource management found in Grace's story. This contrast between the two characters defines the overall experience, creating a game that constantly moves between fear and firepower.

Resident Evil Requiem is ultimately an ambitious attempt to satisfy two very different audiences. It delivers some of the strongest survival horror moments the series has seen in years, while also continuing its action focused evolution.
